Form I-797A : change of the person’s status has been approved, stay is approved
Form I-797B :  petitions had been approved but that the COS or Extension of Stay had not been approved.
Form I-797C: The I-797C form is only a copy of the already approved petition and is given to the applicant’s employer for their reference file.

The I-797 is not the type of form that you fill in. Instead, it serves a variety of purposes such as confirming receipt of a petition, requesting additional evidence or notifying the customer of an approval.

For example, USCIS will send Form I-797C, Notice of Action, to a customer in order to communicate information related to notices of: receipt, rejection, transfer, re-open, and appointment (fingerprint, biometric capture, interview, rescheduled).

Other Types of I-797 issued by USCIS include:

Workers Classification:-
What is a Consultant/Freelancer or Contractor ?
A consultant, also referred to as a freelancer or contractor, is a business or individual that provides professional services or advice to a client or company in exchange for compensation. A consultant generally specializes in a particular area or industry, such as marketing, human resources, engineering etc.

Consulting Agreement /Consulting Contract/Business Consulting Agreement/Independent Contractor Agreement/Freelance Agreement

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) conduct regular company audits with the goal of finding employees who have been misclassified as contractors.
The consequences for such misclassifications can range in severity depending on whether or not the misclassification is intentional, unintentional, or fraudulent.

Workers Classification:-
1) Employees: on Clients W2
(Direct Hire/Direct Staffing/Direct Placement/Full time)
2) Contractors:
1099 workers or Independent contractors or Self Employed or Business - Pay their own taxes
(for specific job for ex. Book keeping which doesn't require full time work, few hours if work in a month etc.)
3) Temp Staffing/Contract
Temp to Hire/Contract to Hire

C2C
--------------

#Companies provide a Form 1099-MISC to independent contractors that they work with, and employers file Form W2on behalf of their employees.

#If an employee is misclassified as an independent contractor, you could be subject to costly fines and legal fees. And W2 workers who are misclassified as independent contractors can sue your business for benefits they were denied, such as health insurance, overtime pay, and the minimum wage.
#1099 workers can also choose to hire their own workers to help them deliver the product or service that you hired them to provide. In other words, independent contractors assume the risk for their own profit or loss when they carry out their jobs.
#Since your level of oversight over independent contractors is relatively low, your level of financial and legal responsibility is low, as well. 1099 workers pay both employee and employer self-employment taxes—so, if you choose to hire an independent contractor, your business doesn’t need to pay payroll taxes. And, as their own business owners, 1099 workers aren’t eligible for the benefits you might offer your W2 employees, such as health insurance, paid time off, and overtime.
In most cases, a company can let an employee go for poor performance or any other valid, non-discriminatory reason. An independent contractor, on the other hand, works and receives pay according to the terms of a signed contract between the parties. They also pay their own taxes.

Benefits like health insurance, retirement contributions, and flexible spending accounts are available to all qualifying employees in a business. As we mentioned earlier, benefits aren’t available to independent contractors doing work for a business.
IRS or Department of Labor audit you and find that you’ve misclassified workers. Because when it comes to 1099 vs. W2, the IRS is stringent: They can can levy back taxes and penalties of more than 40% of the contractor’s pay. And the DOL could require you to pay wages going back three years.

Less legal risk to your business –
Lowers business costs You don’t have to provide a minimum wage, overtime, or benefits to independent contractors. There is another interesting W2 vs. 1099 tax difference as well: Since you don’t have to withhold income taxes or pay payroll taxes, there’s also less of a paperwork burden on your company when you hire independent contractors.
You can hire 1099 workers for specific projects, but you can’t control when or how they complete their jobs. You’re not responsible for covering their Medicare and Social Security taxes, and you won’t provide them with the same benefits as you would for a W2 worker. This may be a less expensive option.
W2 workers, on the other hand, require a regular salary, certain benefits, and more intensive management. The financial costs of hiring W2 employees may be higher than 1099 workers.

The best practice is to consult an employment attorney and tax professional before making your final decision about how to consult your business’s workforce.

S-Corp VS LLC:-
LLC - Limited liability Company
by default, a single-member LLC is taxed as a sole proprietorship while a multimemberLLC is considered a partnership. ... An LLCtaxed as an S-corp means the owner's salary will be a business expense so the owner will report salary and other business profit on their personal income tax return
However, LLC owners can choose to be taxed as an S-corp. By doing so, business owners can often reduce their self-employment taxes.
registering their company as an LLC and electing S-corp tax status. This gives the business owner the legal and organizational benefits of an LLC, but the IRS treats the business as an S-corp for tax purposes.

Corp to Corp

With corp to corp, you're a normal contractor. You have to be an S-corp or LLC,
you will be responsible for quarterly tax filings. You might be paid month-to-month; your S-corp or LLC invoices the company,

1099

In order to work as a 1099 contractor, the first step is to create a business that is not incorporated. This business entity will not exist independently of you, so you don't need separate bank accounts. If a 1099 contractor doesn't pay taxes, the IRS may go after the employer and hold the company liable for the tax requirement.

The major difference between C2C and 1099 is that with C2C, you don’t have to pay self-employment taxes on your income.  However, you do have to pay yourself a salary and with it both employer and employee taxes.
------------
Difference Between W-2, 1099, and Corp-to-Corp Workers?

W-2: A Contracted Employee

1099: An Unincorporated, Individually Owned Business

Corp-to Corp: An Incorporated Contractor
If you’re using a corp-to-corp relationship with someone, it just means that you’ll pay an LLC or corporation for services rather than the individual worker. (That’s where the name comes from — your “corp” will be paying the worker’s “corp.”) A contract worker under a corp-to-corp agreement must own an LLC, a corporation, or an S corporation.

Similar to a 1099 independent contractor, the contracted worker under this arrangement is responsible for all taxes, which will be at a higher rate because of the business’s obligation to pay into Social Security and payroll taxes like FICA.
